Earn Money for Your School!
Cool Schools Challenges allow UCS schools to participate in select events while raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics New Jersey AND their own school. Schools have the option to participate in-person or virtually.
A portion of the money raised by the schools is returned as part of a revenue share to fund future UCS programming. The more money you raise, the more you will help your school!
- 50% of every dollar you fundraise over your registration fee goes back to your school!
- Every registered runner will receive a t-shirt and custom race bib.

Thanks4Giving – Turkey Dash and Splash – November 15, 2025
Time to be thankful because Thanks4Giving – Turkey Dash & Splash is back this November! kick off the fun by running in the Turkey Dash 5K which travels the boardwalk through New Jersey’s famous Asbury Park, Ocean Grove, and Bradley Beach.
Following the Turkey Dash 5K, go cold turkey and brace the chilly Atlantic Ocean and take the Turkey Splash plunge in Asbury Park to prove you really are Freezin’ for a Reason!
You can sign up to participate in one event or the other, but if you are feeling adventurous – sign up for both! Dash through town and cool off with the Splash!

Jingle All the Way 3k – December 7, 2025 – virtual!
New this year! We will be offering the Jingle All the Way 3K Virtual Cool Schools Challenge – an inclusive program established to have Unified Champion Schools participate in fundraisers to raise funds and awareness for SONJ. A portion of the money raised by the school is returned as a part of a revenue share to fund future UCS programming. The more money you raise, the more you will help your school!
The Jingle All the Way 3K Virtual Cool Schools Challenge is a virtual event. We encourage you to make it your own! Gather your school or class on a weekend, after school or during recess to complete your 3K. Sport your t-shirts, dress up, hand out medals – make it a school tradition!
All participants will receive a t-shirt, race bib and finisher medal.
Date: Whenever works for you as the Cool Schools Challenge is happening virtually.
Location: Because this event sells out every year, the Cool Schools Challenge portion will take place virtually, meaning that schools can arrange their own walk/run at a designated time or ask participants to complete the walk on their own.
