NJSIAA Unified Bowling Season Dates
- November 17 – First practice
- November 24 – First competition allowed
- February 10 – Team cutoff
- February 18 – Tournament registration due (1 team per school)
- February 25 – Team Tournament, 11 am start, Bowlero (string bowling)
A date for Unified Cup Bowling (for teams not participating in the NJSIAA team tournament) will be announced soon!
Rules
- No bumpers
- Assisted and unassisted ramp use is allowed
- Teams will swap lanes after three games
- No food allowed on the lanes during competition
- Coaches may not interrupt mid-frame
4-person Baker Format
- Fast-paced and team-based method of bowling
- Multiple bowlers bowl one game, alternating frames
- Order: The bowling order (bowler 1, bowler 2, bowler 3, bowler 4) for Baker is set each game (1 game = 10 frames) An Athlete is ALWAYS Bowler 2.
- Coaches may change their order from one game to another, maintaining a ratio of 2 athletes and 2 Unified partners at all times, with Bowler 2 always being an athlete.
Guidelines
- Only the athletes and coaches participating in the current game should be in their respective lanes
- Officials should be adults who are familiar with the rules of high school and Special Olympics bowling
- All players must complete school-required paperwork for the season
- All coaches must complete NFHS Learn Coaching Unified Sports course
